Restaurante Sherpa Asiático – Benidorm

Love this place . I have been a couple of times before when staying at an Apartment across the road. I decided to walk there with family today. The food was to die for. Wonderful service. Special menus such good value. An absolute gem.

Best meal in Benidorm. Simply put, excellent service, delicious food beautifully presented, and prepared with care. What’s more, they give complimentary sides, which are a very welcome addition in a town where sometimes you feel part of a machine churning out tourist friendly boring food. Unbelievably, four courses and a drink still came to less than €20 per person. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Sherpa is a popular Thai / Indian restaurant tucked up a side street in the Old Town on your right as you walk towards the main throughfare known as ‘walking street’. It’s easy to miss but it’s a must if you enjoy freshly cooked Thai and Indian food that’s bursting with flavour. I have dined here a few times over the winter from the set menu (€14.95), although they also have a vegetarian set menu for €16.95 as well as a full menu. They also offer a lunchtime set menu for €9.95 that is served until 4.30pm. The set menu offers poppadums and dips, a choice of starters, main courses, deserts and a drink. The complimentary starter is a freshly cooked onion bhaji with crispy fine rice noodles. It is delicious and hits the spot. I chose the pork and beef skewers with a nutty masala and soy sauces and crispy rice noodles. These are freshly chargrilled and succulent with dips that that work well in bringing out the flavours. The main course is the showstopper for me. I love the Thai beef curry with basmati rice and it never disappoints. It’s not a curry as you know it. Tender strips of beef with sliced green peppers, chargrilled onions, soy and fish sauce with plenty of fluffy, light basmati rice is delectable and flavoursome. You can choose the spice levels. I went for medium which, for me, was right. It’s subjective though and a personal preference. Any hotter and it would have spoilt it for me. It’s a recipe I will be looking to replicate when I return home as it stands out as an unforgettable, tasty and incredible meal. I have tried the chicken tikka masala. It is enjoyable and served in a generous bowl with a portion of fluffy, light basmati rice. Nothing wrong with it at all, although I would say it is fairly bland in comparison. I chose the lemon sorbet to finish, which is perfect to refresh the palate. I cannot fault this restaurant. The food and service is on-point and represents great value for money. Highly recommended.

Very nice Asian restaurant near to the Benidorm old town most famous shopping street. Interesting menu, excellent food and service. Good quiet location. Small terrace. Friendly and helpful staff. If you like spicy food, this is a place worth visiting.

Era la primera vez que probabamos un indio, y sin lugar alguna repetiría mil veces aquí, son super atentos con los detalles, tardan un poco en sacar los platos, pero cuando llegan merece mucho la pena la espera, se nota que todo lo hacen al momento, te ponen mucha comida a modo de cortesía, y cuando pides la cuenta te dan unos chicharritos de anís para la digestión y me pareció un super detallazo. Son super atentos a todo. Recomendable 100%

Great little restaurant! Service was amazing they sang happy birthday to me and were all nice and smiley. Only thing is a man came in from the street trying to sell stuff at the tables. But apart from that it’s great I definitely understand why it’s a high rated restaurant.
